But my daughter didn’t sign up for this war

“The way that I’ve described it to people before is that it’s like a war, that the United States is engaged in a war against disease. And their primary tool or weapon is the vaccine. And that in this war the soldiers are our children. And sometimes, as in war, you have casualties… and you have people who lose their lives. But the problem is my daughter didn’t sign up to be in this war. She didn’t ask to be a soldier… and nobody’s giving her any Purple Heart or Medal of Honor, or recognizing the pain that she endures on a daily basis when she fought in this war. And when you look at it from that perspective, it kind of changes things. I can never minimize the loss of a child. But… the child I took home from the pediatrician’s office was not the child I gave birth to. And my loss is not any less. … It’s not.
